Kelly is a fully trained Designated Safeguarding Lead - should you have any safeguarding concerns, please notify Kelly immediately (contact details can be found at the bottom of this page).
On the very rare occasion that Kelly is absent or uncontactable, or if the concern relates to Kelly herself, please speak directly to Finlay, Gaynor, Hetty or Sadie (all of whom have up to date safeguarding training).
All staff are Enhanced DBS Checked (including our volunteers) and have received full safeguarding training as part of their induction.
The small size of the team means that any safeguarding concerns can be shared quickly and easily. Staff all work in mainstream and alternative education setting and so receive formal safeguarding training every year, as well as receiving ongoing safeguarding notifications and updates as they arise.
Kelly is Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Safe Recruitment trained. Hetty is also a trained DSL.
Kelly and Gaynor hold up to-date paediatric first aid certificates and Finlay, Hetty and Sadie all hold up to-date first-aid certificates.
Kelly (Level 3) and Sadie (Level 2) both hold Food Hygiene Certificates.
All staff are Prevent and FGM trained.
All safeguarding concerns will be recorded and monitored, no matter how small. The Suffolk Threshold Matrix will be used to level concerns and if necessary, we will make a referral to the MASH Team (Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub). Any safeguarding concerns will be discussed with the child's parents or guardians, if safe and appropriate to do so.
Every day-trip is fully risk assessed and all documents shared with staff in advance.
'How to stay safe' is discussed with the children at the beginning of each day.
The children form part of our health and safety procedures and are actively encouraged through regular reminders to take care of themselves and each other, notifying staff if they have any concerns.
