Ghost tour and suffolk Witches exhibition

Tuesday 27th October, 9.30 - 3.30, £45 per child (includes return travel from Martlesham)

Walk: Ghastly ghosts and horrible happenings. 

A guided walking tour led by Suffolk Archives: 'Discover the gruesome history of Ipswich. Hear some spooky stories, learn about overflowing graveyards, cruel punishments and executions.'

We'll rest for lunch and enjoy some park play, before heading into The Hold for their latest major exhibition: 'Witches: Suffolk's Dark Legacy'

'Unearth stories of some of the 150 Suffolk people who were accused of witchcraft, and the looming figure of Matthew Hopkins, Witchfinder General.  

Understand how the feverish atmosphere of the witch trials reached boiling point through bewitching items on loan from the British Library.  

Explore how the image of the witch has evolved through time, from the old hag in a pointed hat to the self-sufficient witch of TV and film today. Beautifully illustrated through books, prints, and works of art.

Be spellbound by the true story, and dark legacy of witchcraft in Suffolk.' 

Once again, we'll be given an introductory guided tour of the exhibition by Lucy Wall, Education Audience Development Co-ordinator, and this time she's offered to give us a behind the scenes look at Suffolk Archives also. So we are very lucky and very much looking forward to this special day.

Woodland Day

Thursday 29th October, 10.30 - 4.30, £35 per child

Join us under the trees for a day of free play and optional adult-led activities. We'll toast marshmallows, gather round the campfire for story time and end the day with a magical twilight lantern parade through the woodland.
